"I was forced to buy a new vacuum cleaner because my Dyson couldn't move across my new carpet that I just had put in. Never dreamed I needed to take it into consideration when choosing my carpet. My 2-year old ball Dyson would literally not move an inch on it.
I was nervous as I turned it on to try it out on my new carpet but there was no need because it worked fantastic - on the carpet and my hardwood floors as well. My Dyson is supposed to be self-adjusting but it couldn't. The bags are a drag again but dirty carpet is a bigger drag! The Hoovers are amazing. I will keep my Dyson to use for the accessory stuff but that's a really expensive parts vacuum!"

"From the extra long (and manly!) orange power cord - to enough suction to peel the chrome off a trailer hitch - this is definitely a MAN's vacuum. No foo-foo gimmicky lights or buzzers - just raw suction power. Tim Allen (Home Improvement) would worship this beautiful, powerful, simple machine.
Hoover C1404 Elite is lightweight and picks up very well and uses regular type A bags. I'm not sure why it's called commercial, it does not have the 3 prong plug commercial vacuums have. With the hose attachment, you can also clear the spit balls off the TV glass, and all those hairs you lost during the last poker game - are gone! Clean. Power. Perfect for any man cave!"
A real Hoover, still made in the USA, November 23, 2011 By T. Howlin "bookie monster" (Virginia)
"I have a Hoover Elite 600 series that is officially 25 years old. We had bought the top rated Hoover Windtunnel Bagless three years ago and it's been in for repairs five times - two on/off switches, a burned out motor, a shorted cord and a broken self-propelled switch. I've replaced both belts five times in three years, three sets of expensive HEPA filters and frankly, it's a pain to empty. I will never own another bagless vac and if Hoover stops making units in the USA, then I'll never own another Hoover."
This Hoover C1404 Elite Lightweight Commercial Upright Vacuum with 35-Foot Power Cord, 7.10 Amp product earned 146 customer reviews and 86% are satisfied (as 11/11/2013).
"However what is does exceptionally well is CLEAN. Before I took the Windtunnel to its final resting place at the dump, I thoroughly vacuumed our family room twice. We never used all the fancy on-board tools of the Windtunnel anyway and bought a handheld vac specifically for stairs and furniture."
