I read all the reviews on this Dyson DC41 Animal Complete Upright Vacuum Cleaner  and was worried it was going to be a problem but it has proven to be a awesome vacuum cleaner. I do not understand all the negative reviews. The DC41 performs beautifully.

With two dogs in the house it has a lot of work to do, picking up pet hair and all the dirt the dogs bring in. This vacuum works beautifully with the macaw and her world. Picks up absolutely every down feather in one swipe (no more running over the same feather again and again cause I'm too lazy to pick it up). The cord is awesome. I use to have to plug and unplug over and over in my two story house (7 plug/unplugs to be exact). Now I only have to plug/unplug 4 times, which doesn't seem that great, but when you've had to child proof the outlets and have a hard time getting those covers off and have begun to question your status as an adult, it's awesome. Now it's clean...so clean.

Also, the house use to have a strange odor when I vacuumed, but this vacuum really does assist with the air quality. Especially in the macaws room (birds stink, now when I vacuum that weird bird smell dissipates.) Compared to the DC07, the DC41 seemed to have about the same level of workmanship and sturdiness, but updated (the features are a little better thought out).

I liked that the cord length was the same (possibly longer). The Dyson DC41 Animal Complete Upright Vacuum Cleaner was much quieter, lighter, and smaller, especially at the front of the vacuum; this means I can finally vacuum underneath the cabinetry in the living room. I'd say, if on the fence like I was, give it a try and save the box it ships in just in case you want to return it. But I think you'll keep it.
